[Q&A] What’s needed to sell firearms to law enforcement officers for work purposes?

A certification letter signed by his/her supervisor stating that the firearm will be used for official work duties and that the officer has never been convicted of a domestic violence crime.

A 4473 form is not needed as long as you have the completed certification letter as outlined above.

The letter is evidence of the transaction however you are still required to enter it on the A&D book for your permanent records, using the officer’s name for the disposition.  You must store/keep the certification letter with your records.
