[Q&A] A&D entry for importer and manufacturer with the same name

[Q&A] If the foreign manufacturer and the importer have the same company name, what goes in the A&D book?

Even if the companies are the same, all imported firearms must be engraved with the name of the manufacturer (foreign) and the importer (domestic).  Because of this, you must make sure that you record the company name for both the importer and the manufacturer on your A&D book, regardless if they are the same or not.

If the manufacturer/importer has obtained a variance to the marking requirements, you are to list the markings as engraved on the firearm, in your Acquisition and Disposition book.

For example, you may see Glock as both, however, for Austrian-made Glocks, the manufacturer is “Glock” in Austria and the importer is “Glock, Inc.” based here in the U.S.  They are not the same company.
